The authors  are part of the Vietnamese American community.  The purpose of the bookselling site is to
generate interaction and discussion on need for truthful and accurate understanding of issues regarding
the invasion of the homeland (South Vietnam) by North Vietnam in 1975, and the execution, murder,
imprisonment, and economic losses of the refugee groups who received asylum around the world.

The people of Vietnam and the Vietnamese Diaspora have been at war during their entire lifetimes--old
and young.  The wars did not begin with the American involvement, nor did they end in 1975.  Vietnam is
not an independent country; the government is corrupt.  The Vietnamese Americans fled for their lives and
the future of their children as Boat People refugees.   Many fled to other democratic countries as well,
where they are welcomed -- particularly Canada, France, Germany and Australia.

Americans who are not Vietnamese may find themselves surprised by the diversity of viewpoints, but may
also take heart that these are people who have thrived in democracy and are participatory citizens.   They
care about the Vietnamese people in and from their homeland, and want them to have equally productive
lives and futures.  They care very much that the truth about the Vietnam War as they experienced it be
present in the curriculum that is taught to their children.
